Traditional balsamic vinegar is the granddaddy of balsamic vinegars. To this day it is only made in Reggio Emilia and Modena, Italy, using traditional methods, and production is overseen from beginning to end by a special certification agency. Balsamic vinegar can be used at the end of cooking. It's excellent drizzled over traditional veal scaloppine, a rich risotto, or the Italian stew bollito misto. It's also great over grilled meats and seafood. Add about a teaspoon per person just before serving to get the best of its flavor.

Purchased a sub tray and Caesar salad for a work party. Dozens of compliments. Best one we have ever had for a function. You really live up to your "quality products, friendly faces" motto. Will definitely be back!

Not only are they a great source for hard to find groceries, especially Italian, but they also make great subs. Try the Italiano (hot or mild) with extra Italian dressing or the tuna salad with hot pepper relish. They make the Italian dressing at the store, it's delicious, and they sell it in the refrigerated section. You can eat your sandwich in a small dining area in one corner of the store.

In the summer, there are also tables outside. While you're there, sign up for their newsletter to get advanced notice of special events and sales. UPDATE: I tried a Sicilia sub for the first time requesting that they add their Italian dressing. Absolutely delicious.

Highly recommend the cooking class at Vinces! Donna was fantastic and we made chicken riggies and cannolis - we each had our own work station, and step by step Instructions we're given - great fun!

We had such a delightful time this evening learning to make vodka sauce and gnocchi with Donna. She made it fun with her personal attention and good direction. We all felt like Italian chefs and laughed a lot! And the meal that we had at home afterwards was incredible!

You truly have to go inside to appreciate Vince's. They have anything and everything Italian you could want. We love their deli, esp for lunch (the aranchinis are my favorite). I love the cases of pre-made meals and dessert. I love the bulk buy spices and ingredients, get the exact amount you want. They teach onsite classes. And if you don't get a cannoli, you're just wrong.

I have been a big fan of Vince's Gourmet for many years. Yes, they are a deli/small specialty grocery as well. Their sandwiches and wraps are made with freshly sliced meats and cheese, There is a nice amount of filling so the delicious fresh bread does not overpower the beautiful selection of cold cuts and cheese. Be sure and "Like" their FB page and you will get updates on the sandwich of the week and daily specials.

They sell homemade meatballs, sausage, pasta and sauce. I have always wanted to attend their cooking classes, but they only have a small limited number of spaces. I finally looked far enough ahead and booked a Pasta making class. It was amazing and our teacher/chef/hostess Donna was a great, and LOL, very patient with a bunch of beginners. We were taught to make the pasta, then could make either fettucinni and/or ravioli and/or tortellini. We got to take our pasta home as well as 2 containers of sauce. I am definately looking forward to another class.

Great store very clean and helpful staff I buy all my Italian treats there, from cheeses and prosciutto to olives and pastas. The home made cooked items are extremely delicious. You can't find a better place. Highly recommended

Vince's is fabulous! Always clean and well stocked. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful. Got a gift for my daughter and son in law of a teaching class and they loved it. Great FRESH subs and sandwiches! You wont be disappointed.

First he wants to stereotype, now he wants to attack my life choices. I don't think the owner in any place to offer advice to anyone. Instead of simply apologizing, moving on, and focusing on your employees, he felt inclined to make himself look like a moron on Yelp. Congratulations on your racist sandwich shop! How awful! Extremely low class.

I need no further con-Vince-ing that this is a great store. When I first wandered in one weekend I was immediately hit by AMAZING smells, even through the mask I was wearing; Oregano, cured meats, cheese, mmmm! Vince's carries an array of Italian goods from Expresso soda, pantone, a bajillion olive oils, lots of actual olives, bulk spices, lots of cured meat and cheese at the deli counter, etc. Did I mention there is a wall of house-made dried pastas?

Oh and during the holiday season they huge log-sized provolone cheese, which is easily taller than I am. If you don't want to cook they have take-n-heat meals and a deli that makes sandwiches and hot dinners. If you want to learn to cook Vince's offers cooking classes on the regular, which you can sign up for online. I haven't had the chance to take one yet but I really want to.

This is the best sandwich shop I've ever been to. My bucket list is to eat through their entire sandwich menu but I'm stuck because the Spicy Italian sub and Chicken Riggie sub is so good I just end up ordering one of those. Fairly quick service even on busy days because they have a very large deli staff. Would definitely recommend to friends.

I was reading some of the reviews and I have to tell you I go to this store every couple weeks to shop. I have never had anything but fast excellent customer service from the meat counter and check out. You can not beat the products, pasta, cheeses, meats, risotto balls, greens, tomatoes from Italy. I could go on and on. Thank God for this store and their wonderful employees. I have brought many people there and they also love it. I also love their cooking classes. Grab a bag of meatballs for your sauce, they beat everyone's.

We've gone for years for the frozen soups. Our freezer is always stocked with them. Unfortunately we've noticed a significant decrease in the pasta that they put in there. Enough that we are now having to boil some pasta to throw into them. sorta starts to defeat the purpose, especially for what we pay. They are absolutely delicious just very disappointing. All my family and friends rave about the soup when I serve it.

Happy to be able to upgrade my rating. The service was fast, polite and efficient. One tiny gripe prevents the 5th star. Ordered some Porcetta as I know theirs is authentic and quite delicious. Unfortunately, it was the stub end of the joint and although the taste was excellent, the texture was a little tough and dry. Should really have been replaced with a fresh joint.

Still enjoyed it though. I'll make sure when I go back to ask for a fresh joint if it's at the end. Good days ahead. Their fresh pasta is SO much better than the package dried crap.

My client recently close on a home in North syracuse after relocating from another area. They were Italian like me and I had been telling them out vinces. After we left the attorneys office I had to take my buyer here to celebrate. The selection is amazing for the size of the store. The sandwiches are the best. As a kid growing up my grandfather always bought us giant Easter eggs made of chocolate. Vinces carries then and I was able to carry on the tradition. This is a true gem in Central New York you can get lost in this little store for hours. Support local you won't be disappointed.

I love Vince's, but I just wish the prices were a little cheaper. That was my original review, but I've changed my tune a little bit -- I love this place and everything is fantastic, especially the subs and the frozen home-made dinners (seafood lasagna is absolute heaven). My wife got the Campana sandwich and really liked it. The sub I got today was the weekly special w Mortadella, fried tomatoes, mozz, greens, and balsamic reduction -- it was freakin' AMAZING!

Amazing arancini, cold pasta salad, subs, fried ravioli! This is a regular lunch place for my family, and we often stock our freezer with Italian goodies!

The goal of a hospitality establishment is to not just have happy customers, but to turn their customers into raving fans. I am a raving fan of Vince's. Since I moved back to Syracuse from NYC 10 years ago, you can call me their #1 ambassador. Sam and his team treat me like a guest in their home. The sandwiches are the best value (people pay the same amount for a Subway foot long?!) and packed with flavor.

The freezer is a goldmine of prepared meals, esp. during the pandemic. Here are some of my favorites: Sandwiches: Chicken Riggie, Spicy Italian Beef, Modena, Fried Fish, any weekly special Freezer: Cavatelli, Porcini ravioli, Meatball and Sausage Lasagna, Ricotta Gnocchi (all homemade) Prepared: Zucchini Salad, Roasted Peppers, Meatballs Thank you for your wonderful food and service over the years. -Ari

Growing up in an Italian American family means that 1. I have a habit of talking with my hands and 2. Not just any cannoli will do. After reading the reviews for Vince's, I knew this was the kind of bakery my grandma would approve of, and decided to swing by to pick up some sweets for a visit. There was plenty of parking, and the store is pretty spacious, and filled with tons of products.

I beelined for the bakery case, where there were plenty of options both traditional and creative. I opted for a mix of old and new, selecting lobster tail pastries in vanilla and chocolate, as well as standard cannolis and chocolate peanut butter ones. Flash forward, the sweets were a big hit! My family gave rave reviews, and the box of goodies didn't last the weekend.

While at the store, I also picked up a can of Italian spiced eggplant for my grandmother, and one of the associates was nice enough to help me. I didn't want to spend too much time in the shop, but they have a big variety, and you could spend time browsing here under more normal circumstances. It is a little pricey for normal groceries, but not unusually so for a specialty store.

I do not have enough words to say how WONDERFUL this place is. I got the meatball sub and the chicken riggies sandwich. Both were some of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Extremely flavorful, so filling, and a great price - $10 for a sandwich & salad. The store itself is jam-packed with various Italian goods such as dried pastas, sauces, spices, sweets, fresh bread, cheeses, etc. I am happily going to return!

I love coming here for a sandwich or some fresh pasta. They have a lot to offer. It is a gourmet place without feeling like you had to pay extra. The have free wifi which is great when I eat lunch there. There is plenty of parking as the have their own lot. The service is always excellent. They offer cooking classes here too.

Chicken riggie sub was phenomenal but be warned, it's spicy! The staff was very friendly. Not a ton of seating but we were able to find a table. I would definitely come back here again!

Outstanding subs. Got the meatball sub ($9.99) and it's the best I've had in years. They carry incredible gluten free rolls (provided by The Cookie Connection). Fair prices. The rest of my family ordered a chicken parm sub, porchetta sub, more meatball subs, and 3 different arancinis. Everything tasted amazing! Only thing we didnt care for was the side salads included with the hot subs.

Highly reccomend! About 6 tables to eat inside as well. The variery of italian goods in the store is awesome as well--though some items would just be cheaper at wegmans, while others you probably can't find easily elsewhere.

I can't begin to explain how amazing Vince's is. We were out for a drive and figured we would stop in. Brought back a lot of great memories when my father use to take me to shops like this when I was a kid. Great prices, authentic Italian imports and phenomenal service. Thank you Vince's for being so authentic and bringing back a part of my childhood. Check this place out, you won't regret it.

Whenever we visit a different city, my husband always wants to check out local Italian food shops/markets. Most are disappointing, but Vince's was great. Outside of Italy, obviously, we put it in our top five Italian Markets (others are in Ottawa, ON, Providence, RI, Niagara Falls, ON and NYC. There is so much going on in this store, but not in a bad way.

As you walk in to the right is a seating area and the deli is at the back of the store. The wall by the seating area is filled with some beautiful Italian serving platters. It's a miracle we didn't walk out with one. Or five. Also on that wall is a cooking area. They do a lot of cooking classes and the set up looks fun! The other side wall is a refrigerated/freezer section with so much stuff.

They sell their own sauces and fresh pastas and meats as well as desserts. On top of all the Italian groceries you can think of, they also have a home section with Moka pots, ravioli stamps and more. Two things I hadn't seen before were huge tubs of olives (think of those huge industrial size paint buckets) and everyday spices that you scoop yourself.

There was also an olive and antipasti bar. A lot of their house made items looked good (especially the arancini) but we didn't have a fridge at our hotel. Maybe next time!
