Our beginnings can be traced back to the 1920's when Donald McIntyre began farming 600 acres near Casselton, North Dakota. As the farm prospered, Donald recognized the need for quality certified seed and built the first of our seed plants in 1966. As our clients and their needs grew--and as the number of seed varieties exploded--a second seed plant was added in 1975. Soon after this Donald, his wife Lily, his children Duane and Marlyce, and their spouses Paula and Harvey formed McIntyre-Pyle Seeds, Inc.

Without sound research, we wouldn't be able to stand behind the products that we offer. Research plots allow us to test our varieties in various growing regions under diverse growing conditions. Collecting data from these plots allows us to better match varieties up to the areas in which they excel.
Unity Seed has been a processor of IP Non-GMO Food Grade Soybeans for Twenty Six years. We pride ourselves on our commitment to not only quality, but the value added benefits we can provide to our producers throughout the Tri-State region. Premiums have increased steadily over the years as fewer acres have been planted to Non-GMO products.
Whether seed is coming or going, our President Nick Pyle tracks it all. He takes customer service very seriously, and his organization skills allow him to be very efficient in meeting the needs of our customers. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, Nick returned to his roots to help move the business into the future. On top of handling our daily operations Nick has taken over the duties of contracting food grade soybean production acres.
No one builds a great reputation for quality seed without paying attention to their facilities. Unity Seed is no exception. 25,000 bushels overhead makes for fast and easy truck loading without requiring additional grain legs; that means less damage to the seed. We also have 60,000 bushels of bag storage and 500,000 bushels bulk.
