Almost 4 decades ago a group of experienced seedsmen got together and decided to form a new seed company that could cater to specific requirements, primarily in the export market, paying special attention to the increasing demand for reliable quality seeds. Ten years after its formation the headquarters for Bonanza Seeds was moved to Yuba City, California, in the heart of the Sacramento Valley. From this location we coordinate the seed production in the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys in California, as well as in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Arizona.

I found Bonanza looking online for a source of Sweet Chelsea tomato seeds after Stokes discontinued them. I ordered Sweet Chelsea, Tamayo tomatillo, and a squash & gourd(not planted yet). I planted 14 varieties of tomato seed on the same day in the same flat on a heat mat. Every variety except the Sweet Chelsea from Bonanza came up within 5 days. To date none of the Bonanza tomato seeds have ever come up.

The day after planting tomatoes, I planted the Tamayo tomatillo seeds from Bonanza, also on a heat mat. None of them ever came up either. I think this Bonanza is a scam. I have started my own seeds almost 50 years and have never had zero germination. The seeds did not come in an envelope labeled 'Bonanza'. They came in 2 envelopes from 2 different guys in Texas.

Obviously these seeds are no good, either not viable in the first place or improperly stored. I've had tomato seeds that were 4 years old and some still germinated, so Bonanza's seeds must be very, very old. I expect that the squash and gourd seeds won't be any good either. I am disgusted.
