Since our inception in 1996, our motto has always been "whatever it takes to make the customer happy". African Imports started out of my desire to bring a little bit of my Africa to a small circle of friends and also to satisfy the demand of people wanting to own something exotic. We have grown from Kente Stoles to African Fabrics to Woodcarvings, Embroidery Clothing, Jewelry and Drums. Our handmade Graduation Kente Stoles come in many categories and can be customized to create a truly unique piece!
Services
All our hand-dyed batiks come from Ghana. Over the years we have developed wonderful relationships with many talented local dyers and batik artists. All fabrics are 100% cotton. Some are a subtly woven damask, others are plain-weave cotton, as indicated. All fabrics are dressmaking and craft weight.
Due to the unique and labor-intensive manufacturing process, you will not find two identical mudcloth fabrics. The word bogolanfini literally translates to bogo meaning "mud" or "earth", lan meaning "by means of" and fini which means "cloth". The men of the Bamana tribe weave the fabric while the women dye the cloth using fermented mud.
We have a large inventory of Graduation Kente Stoles in different categories. Sorority, Fraternity, Graduation, Organizations, Multi-Cultural, Religious and Traditional. Most of our Kente can be customized with text, symbols and logos. Most orders ship within 48 hours. Overnight shipping available.
The National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) is an umbrella council for 16 Latino Greek Letter Organizations established in 1998. The purpose of NALFO is to promote and foster positive interfraternal relations, communication, and development of all Latino fraternal organizations through mutual respect, leadership, honesty, professionalism and education.
